Afternoon Storm Apt by Omar-Dogan Afternoon Storm Apt by Omar-Dogan
Some more practice, though I fixed up some things not limited to the road and some signage. A lot of cleaning up on the base image, though at this resolution you might not see it.

I will do some more of this, maybe some rain. I intend to put in characters and cars, but it's interesting to see even without all those elements as well.

Very beautiful urban scenery, lots of details, it looks like real outskirts although it is not crowd. But yes, without the inhabitants, it is quite odd but interesting atmosphere. Nice job!

Looks like a photograph. If I think too much about how much work needed to go into this I'll get dazzled for the rest of the afternoon.

I agree with the comments above, such a captivating scene - what software did you use to create it, the description only says digital painting & airbrushing?

If I may, I would say that part of the street right outside the "ICIUS Electrical Services" is incorrect in terms of the perspective; it makes it look like the road slants sideways as well as "with the grain" so to speak (concerning the hill). maybe that's what you want? ether way it bother's the hell out of me haha
besides that love the light rendering-great job

The reason I did that is because the main road that the hill ends at is at an angle that is not 90*. I based this off a map i had made prior and am trying to emulate it.

My rationale was that the road would more likely have a bump or hump straight across rather than cutting the road on an angle. As a result i made the lines at the intersection at that off angle and made the line at the drive way line up with the cross section of the road from sidewalk to sidewalk on our side.

i need to look for a bit but i see what your talking about now. doing a street like that i imagine is quite a hassle. I think whats throwing me off then is the yellow divider on that road leading down the hill; but knowing that the road curves I can see that visualization better. Once again, great job overall!

Your backgrounds/environments are always a pleasure to look at.
if you don't mind me asking, (I know it is a pretty broad question) what do you think about when doing environments such as these? Even with one of your gals as the main subject manner your backgrounds really bring them more life and make them more appealing.

As I do comic covers that are mostly heroine based; I'll find myself lost sometimes making a background. I know a big part of my problem is it seems when I throw in a cool background the editors never seem to care and want to focus only on the girl. Thus I get stuck in my head that I'm not doing it right.

Any helpful hint or tip would be great and thanks for reading!

Think up a scenario and try to emulate it as you see it. Sometimes if i find it is getting to repeatetive I throw in some more odd ball ideas just for fun.

I'm not sure why but this kind of lighting evokes crazy nostalgia. Reminds me of a dream. If this where a photo, it would've been taken from the "mushroom" houses, yes? Beautiful work Omar.
