SLSB0101 Sakura Legends

This is about the only time i had to take my time on the pages for the entire Sakura series, the majority past this point were rushed and it was hard to keep this level of quality.

The Bgs i rendered in pencil and put all sorts of texture and the poses throughout this 4 page set were better thought out i think than in many parts of the main Sakura story.

Karin was my first even published piece of art, I am not sure if you remember but way back in 1998 there was a magazine called PSM and they would put some fan's fanart there in the back pages if it was any good. Well the first attempt i made was with a pic of Karin and it made it in!!

Needless to say this was an honour to work on this book, and it having Karin as the first character you interact with was a neat bit of destiny. Of course the first two panels have Sakura in them, but the Karin is the first main character you are introduced to.

If you like these i will post the other three, there are no word bubbles in these pages as they are the working files, but i think it gives a clear view of the staging.
