Happy Mothers Day

Journal Entry: Sat May 8, 2010, 6:37 PM
Unless and until the honour and dignity of motherhood is reestablished, count on society to continue degrading itself and that people won't realize this degradation. Motherhood is a much higher calling than any career, and is more difficult and important especially nowadays.

You will never fully comprehend your mother's love for you till you have your own children, and I say this from experience of having my own child and being with my wife through most of the process. Even to this day i still can't really grasp the fact that both my parents held me in their arms when I was tiny.

It truly is an awesome thought if you really think about it. We are born with no skills, knowledge, bias, or blemish and much of our molding comes from our mothers, good or otherwise. Either way a true mother's love is genuine and unconditional.

Happy Mothers day to my wife for mother my own child and my Mom. Thank you for your hard and important work.

I really do thank you guys and I hope I have been of some use to you.

Asalaamu Alaikum = Peace be upon you!

I think a lot about it. If one day i can be a good father as my parents has been to me.
And i try to do a homage to my mother, not only give a present and say "happy mother's day".

Happy Mothers Day. =D Don't worry I honor my mothers every day, but especially today. They are wonderful women and I wouldn't forsake them for anything. :)

I suppose the height of the calling partially depends on whether or not you think it is important to perpetuate. If you DON'T think it's important then it sort of loses most of it's importance.

That said, it is of paramount importance for everyone to realize that if you decide to have children (or do anything that could result in some) you should be ready to take care of your offspring. At least one whole parent's worth of time should be available every day. It's really best if children get two loving care takers, but there are many ways that it can work out. :)

...Just as there are many ways it can fail. >__>

My mun is very paranoid and overprotective and a bit of a control freak ha ha! Even though I'm old enough to make me decisions but she always push me around which annoys me a lot. She tends to have bad timing for making jokes at me or my friends but I still respect and love her as a mother. This journal post is a bit of an eye opener too. Thanks for the wise words dude!

Don't worry, I love my mom an respect her tremendously. And my brother and I made sure she knew it last evening. :)

It is such a thoughtful thing to write here in your journal, and I fully agree with you. =)

Great message!
I must add that: "when do you have children, do you learn to be a better son" too.

It's long passed Mother's Day here in Britain (I made my mum a painting) but this was still a pleasant journal to read.

It'll be nice when people realise that parenthood is a challenge you approach when you feel mature enough for it and (obviously) actually WANT to sire children. Most tend to view being a parent as "something you do" during your twenties regardless of their actual situation or thoughts on the matter.

This is wrong.

*gives Omar a nice big  *

I've already bought My Mother a nice Birthday present, but not a Mother's Day Present yet.

I've only bought her a Card which I've prepared earlier yesterday so I can give it to her later on after work.

Happy Mother's day Omar (SF Legends Ibuki Rocks!!!!! :D ) & everyone.

A very beautiful sentiment that I highly agree with!

Well said.mother plays the greatest role in a child's mother really supported me and my brother and sister in every difficulty we've gone through.after my father's death her responsibility got double but she never gave up and always encourage us to keep going and never stop in life.she sacrifices many things for us but the happiness she gave us is infinity.when my turn comes to give her happiness i think i won't come near to what she did for us.

but atleast i won't abandoned her when she need's her children the most becaz i have to show my face to Allah after i die.

though my mom drives me crazy on a daily basis, i gotta say i agree with you, though i'm really young and donnot have my own children. i just feel bad we didn't get to celebrate it today with her, we had to go to my uncle's 75th birthday.

and just out of curiousity, are the last words you typed arabic? xD

Very true words; I sometimes see and hear things where girls are upset that they're becoming like their mothers, but I think my mother is wonderful and I want to be a lot like her when I grow up. I think my parents have done a really good job of raising me and my brother, and for staying together despite illness and difficulty.

Admittedly I was slightly worried when I saw this journal, because in the UK we hold Mothers' Day during Christian Lent, so it was back in March for us.

I agree totally. Mother's day is kind of bittersweet to me because my parent split almost twenty years ago and my mom feels like she's let me down because I grew up with my dad and she couldn't be there for a lot of those growing up moments. I tell her (but I don't think she believes) that she is largely responsible for who I've grown up to become, even if she wasn't there to see some of the end results. Really, that's the best gift I think I have to give her is to be a respectable and honorable man that she would be proud to call her son. I love you, Mom!

To one father to another, we can only appreciate how much our mothers have done for us once we become parents. I am blessed that my mother is still with us (nearly died 14 years ago) and continues to bless her grandchildren with the same love and dedication as she placed upon me.

No one is more greater or more important than our mother.

I'm sorry for those who have divorced parents or have lost their mothers. Surely God has a way of reconnecting us with our past and comfort us all.

But I thought motherhood was something women should push to the side in order to achieve their career goals! Damn... I hate it when society distorts what I should think.
From one dad to another, yeah, kids make you think different about life, don't they. Oh... wait till your kid is old enough to sit on your lap while you are coloring in PhotoShop then wants to use the Wacom to color "like dad". :)

I agree with you all the way happy mother's to all the moms and soon to be moms.

I have been fortunate to have both of my parents love and support in my life. I thank God for every day I have had those experiences, and continue to have them even though my folks are in another state.

This is a nice journal, and nice to see a male figure appreciate mother's out there. Not many men do that, nor do they realize what their wives or mother's may have had to sacrifice to give them the life they have now. I applaud your honesty and heartfelt journal here and wish those on here who are mothers a Happy Mother's day as well:D. Gonna call my mommy tomorrow and tell her how much I love her, and always have

Motherhood is a much higher calling than any career, and is more difficult and important especially nowadays.

Very true, it's a shame people some people are so disrespectful to their mothers when they're only looking out for you. They obviously don't understand all of the hardships that mothers must deal with everyday of their lives.

I love my mother (and my father) with all of my heart for dealing with me hehe

I can't say the same, I was raised almost entirely by my dad ;_; If my grandmother was still alive, I would wish her a Happy Mother's day more than my actual mother. I don't look forward to tomorrow :O

Im sorry about your experience, my parents are divorced since i was 4 and i have had mixed experience as well in the father department.

I have also seen tragic and not nice things as well, but somehow i don't think is right to focus on the negative.

If I praise mothers, its an encouragement and hope that many women will fit that build. We're all human, but we should aim for the best. My wife tries her hardest to be a good mother, and I try my best to be a good father.

My mom also did her best as well to raise me as a single mother, and loves me even after I accepted Islam while she is still Christian. Everyones experience is different, and I am calling to the positive examples...

My parents divorced when I was four years old as well! But I also had a two-year-old brother. She wanted to take us with her to Scotland, because she was chasing some guy she met only briefly. My dad bargains with her for us, because he loved us, and didn't think two little children should be sent alone to another country. My mom was just really selfish :/ And it continues today. She got married two more times, had a child with the third, divorced him as well (therefore ripping her third child away from his father), and then marrying a guy that is 20 years younger than her. She's just a terrible person :/ The most selfish person I'll ever know.

And I never hesitate to tell people this :dohtwo:

Did you guys get in a fight when you wanted to convert? :O
Omar-Dogan Featured By Owner May 9, 2010  Professional General Artist
My bro is two years younger as well lol. My dad has been married twice afterwards too.

My mom was very accepting so I am happy about that.
jennis233 Featured By Owner May 9, 2010
Ah, my dad never remarried ;_; He's never been a confident person, so his divorce made it worse.

Hey that's great :D
