PAX East 2011 result and autre chose...

Journal Entry: Sun Mar 20, 2011, 8:33 AM
PAX East 2011

I have to say i am preasantly shocked that all of the Felicia's sold out along with 90% of Sakura and 75% of Juri prints.

Those were supposed to last the whole con season! Good thing I listened to my boss and brought all of them as opposed to 30 of each. As a result of this, I will go and clean up the files so more and fix things here and there and make a second print run. The title will show a little number two by the title so you know its is different. I did the same thing last year with the Ibuki prints. I actually have 3 or 4 Ibukis left, and a few Karins too.

I was happy to meet a few dA people there, but mostly it was obviously a gamer event. I did some commissions too, but I didn't scan them. They probably will surface on here eventually.

Tsunami in Japan

My relatives were safe in Japan, even though my wife's cousin lived in Sendai. We found out later they lived in a town adjacent to it and not in it. So they're fine as well. For anyone else who had people affected, my condolences.

Work and Commissions

So far teaching has been one of the more welcome changes in my life and i thoroughly enjoy as I thought I would. Apparently I am said to be a very tough marker, and i tell it the way it is. I don't slam my students, but i sort of do. They are improving and I am happy.

Request? No I do not take requests. In fact when the commissions are not open I don't repsond to those  notes since I can't read through that many. I don't  do trades or collabs or colour people's work either, i have no time and no desire for that. When you guys one day have a wife and kids to support, you will understand why I am careful how i spend my time and effort. Eitherway, I am happy for your interest!

Also, i have not been able to answer all the comments and questions. If you asked a question, but I know its answered somewhere on my site, I will not respond. As for all the nice comments I very very very much appreciate them.

I might not open for commissions for a little while longer as i have to get a cover done this week and have t get going on the girls book.

Rare Punk Sakura Print and Art

Did I mention that Sakura is up for bids?

Punk Sakura Alt Costume by Omar-Dogan

Who wants it? Price with original art, 300DPI PSD file, and goodies including a numbered print (1st print run) starts at 600USD/CAD including shipping to your door. That's a steal.

I really do thank you guys and I hope I have been of some use to you.

Asalaamu Alaikum = Peace be upon you!

Not everyone here is going to marry, or is going to marry a woman, or is going to marry a woman and have children. Just so you know. >.>

No, see, it's not right to say "Someday you'll do this" when not everyone you're addressing is going to do that. It excludes all the people who know that they aren't, and makes them wonder if you even know they exist.

I speak to the majority, simple as that and there is nothing to apologise for. Besides, how am I to know everyone's situation.

Why are you getting caught up on redundant/mundane details like this anyway?

I dunno, maybe I grew up in yet another ultraconservative church, where the people in charge always spoke to the majority and thought that anyone else was mundane and redundant.

And you're right, there's no way you could possibly know what everyone in your audience is like. I guess the only logical thing to do in this situation is to treat them like they are all the same person, and will have the same experiences that you have.
