Polymanga, it was not to be...

Journal Entry: Thu Apr 12, 2012, 3:01 PM
Man, the last week has been one of the worst in recent memory and yet i live to tell of it:

SO as expected last week, beatrush arrived in Mississauga last Tuesday. I had him stay in a hotel close to my place so that i could take him around. i took him to all the spots  where many aspects of my show took place and i also took him all the way to Niagara Falls to see it as well.  I will leave it up to him to tell you all the details but he has for sure seen  many sites including my old office and the famous snowball incident location.

The next day , he came with me to school and watched me teach a much beaten and worn set of students for the day. Already at that point i had become sick, and was thinking still that i could some how get over the disease before my flight to Switzerland on the morrow. By the next day, i was finished. Still i packed all my stuff and had all the product ready. I was already coughing out dark green junk and  was feverish at about 38.2°c / 101°F for over 8 hours at that point. I knew that i had pushed it too hard over the last semester and now i was going to pay the price.

I remember seeing my family off, and i had a weird feeling as though it would be the last time i saw them and was really feeling  not too good about the trip. beatrush came over and we divvy up all the stuff in between our luggage and i took one last shower in hopes of feeling better and shaking the aches and pains of fever and refreshing myself before a 10 hour flight.

No luck, yet i still left and we walked to a place where there is normal cabs to be caught by the hotel. I stopped by a pharmacy and got some cough medicine and Ricola and upon explaining to the pharmacist what i had he made sure i understood that these things would avail me nothing and that i for sure had an infection that required antibiotics. we got a cab and then i realized that ii forgot something very important which  had me running back up the hill to my place and by the time i had got back to the cab i knew there was no way i was going to do this.

Before this point I talked to beatrush and he assured me that if need be he would still go and would be able to run the booth even without me being there. I approached the cab and told him to take out his stuff and that there is no way i am going in this condition. And so like maniacs we severed out luggage open and began to raffle and rearrange our stuff to make sure he could accommodate the product. No sooner had we done that, than for whatever reason my wife pulls up and is there to see all this transpiring. Beatrush assures me its not a problem and i give him my umbrella just in case and bid him farewell. At least he doesn't have to lose his vacation time and see Switzerland for the first time.

He had a great friggen time as I had hoped and enjoyed it thoroughly. Me on the other hand, well:

At that point my wife took my directly to the hospital and i was diagnosed with upper respiratory infection and got my antibiotics within the hour. We cancelled the flight and were able to get some money back and I have to give my doctors note  to get the rest.  After that point i did not leave my bed for three days and it was one of the worst experiences I've gone through. Not only me, but my wife and children got it, and all of us were levelled. My daughters on a few occasions were crying  inconsolably for the pain and I was having anxiety fits as a side effect of the antibiotic. This only just yesterday finally ended. Fortunately since i had already  set up my days to allow the time off i needed for the trip i didn't have to go into school for any reason.

It seriously was and awful experience and not restful at all. I'm so glad it's over.

So, Polymanga I do apologize sincerely.

I really do thank you guys and I hope I have been of some use to you.

Asalaamu Alaikum = Peace be upon you!

It was a smart move not to have gone, though. Imagine the condition you'd be in if you ignored the signs, went all that way, and couldn't even get up in the morning for the entire duration! Not to mention beatrush'd probably get it too. Sometimes your own health and wellbeing just has to take precedence!

What a story - yah that sounds bad. I'm sorry you and your family had to get sick like that. But it's good to hear that you're coming out of it. Be well and Take care of yourself man. Hear's to your health! :)

Glad you're ok now, and please don't let it catch you again. :)
Only when one feels sick, then we understand how much we don't mind pay attention to our health when we're fine.

Outsch... sorry to hear that ;_;

Look at it this way, what doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger.

Okay, lame line, I know. But I'm glad it's nothing really serious :)

Sorry to hear that you had to go through all that sickness and your family too. Glad that you had the time to rest and recuperate and didn't have to worry too much about missing polymanga due to Beat being able to cover. Hope you and your family are back to full health soon.

Sounds like what happened to my family two months, all of got some kind of sickness and my brother died for a few minutes.

What is in the air? :(

That sucks that you and your family had to go through that. On the bright side you at least got your money back from the flight, most air lines don't do that.
